Cameras are needed to tackle illegal dumping in Kildare

A serious problem has emerged in the Naas area
Cameras are needed to deal with people who leave rubbish behind in parts of the Naas area.
Cllr Bill Clear wants Kildare County Council to set up funding to pay for “multiple CCTV systems for use at dumping blackspots in the municipal district.”
Quantities of rubbish were set on fire in the vicinity of houses and farm animals recently.
Residents of the Kilteel area, including Crosschapel and parts of Blessington, expressed concern over the "large amounts of waste being abandoned along scenic country roads.”
One person living locally said a serious illegal dumping problem has emerged in the Kildare/Wicklow border area.
“What we are really concerned about is the deliberate burning of dumped waste, creating a serious fire risk to nearby homes, farmland and livestock during the ongoing drought conditions,” the resident added.
