Big attraction for the Kildare/Offaly border

Cannonball, the action-packed supercar spectacle, is coming back to Edenderry on Friday September 6th 2024.

Cllr Noel Cribben has been in talks with Alan Bannon, founder of Cannonball since January to bring the event back and delighted to now confirm that we will see the supercar spectacle again as it does a full loop around the town as part of the official start of the event on Friday Morning September 6th. Top mark cars including McLaren, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche, Maserati, Rolls Royce and Bentley will blaze a trail around Ireland from Septemebr 6th-8th this year and Edenderry will, once again, be named as a host town.

Organisers are working on the exact route that the event will take but the plan is to come around the back of the town via the new road and then roll slowly through JKL Street so the drivers can put on a show and spectators will get to see the cars. The best viewing points will be at the Canal Harbour round about and all the way up JKL Street to the court house. Cannonball has already raised €1.6 Million for Irish charities and, this year, the official charity of Cannonball is the Jack and Jill Childrens Foundation.Cannonball is the brainchild of Kildare businessman Alan Bannon and the benefit to the host towns for this event is estimated at €2,567,000 per year. Cannonball will be fuelled by milesPlus from Circle K as the main headline Sponsor for 2024.

Cannonball will be another huge event for Edenderry over the next few months along with Edenderry Music Festival which will be bigger than ever before on June 28th, 29th and 30th at Edenderry GAA Grounds with Marquee Cover. The festival is renowned as one of the largest festivals in the Midlands, offering great entertainment and a vibrant atmosphere for music lovers and festival-goers alike.  From the explosive energy of rock and roll to the hypnotic beats of traditional Irish music, there's a sonic treat for every music enthusiast.  Catch electrifying tribute acts like Qween, Trevor Smith & Friends in Low Places, and Ruaile Buaile plus many more!   Cannonball will have a presense at the Music Festival and the Festival Committee are delighted to welcome Cannonball back to Edenderry again.
