A school for children with special needs in Kill has received a huge boost thanks to a huge €15,000 donation from employees at some of Ireland’s top companies, based at Green REIT plc’s Central Park business campus.

Saplings School for Children with Autism and Complex Needs in Kill, Co Kildare received the donation following a charity golf tournament at Druids Glen – organised by the Live Work Grow programme at Dublin’s premium business park, Central Park.

The funding will allow the co-educational specialist school to cover the annual cost of a speech and language therapist for three days a week.

100 golfers took part in the event with employees  from Vodafone, Salesforce, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Sage, Hostelworld, Mastercard and The Clayton Hotel turning out to support this great cause.

The tournament, won by the Salesforce team, was sponsored by Central Park landlords Green REIT plc and a range of service providers to the park.

“This event was organised by our Live Work Grow programme which connects the people who live or work at Central Park to each other, to their companies and to the location in South Dublin,” said Central Park relationship manager Lisa Geoghegan.

“We were inspired to support this great cause by Sage employee Padraig Lynch who became aware of the school’s need for funding for such a vital resource. We would like to thank all of the sponsor companies who supported our fundraising efforts," she added.

The South Dublin campus at Central Park extends to 1 million square feet and is home to 6,500 employees and residents in both office and residential space.

Central Park is home to a range of blue chip companies such as Vodafone, Ulster Bank, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Salesforce
