Co Kildare homes with significant pyrite damage

Eight homes  in Co Kildare significantly damaged by pyrite are exempt from property tax.

The issue was raised by Deputy Claire Daly at a Dail motion yesterday, almost 10% of all Local Property Tax exemptions issued in Ireland are to households in Kildare.

Pyrite, which swells on contact with moisture, was used in the construction of up to 30,000 homes, nationwide.
