COURT: Kildare family law hearing is told about decapitated rabbits
A forthcoming family law hearing will be told of decapitated rabbits.
Solicitor Peter Flanagan, who represented a woman seeking court protection, told Judge Desmond Zaidan “you’ll hear the next day of decapitated rabbits.”
The woman told Naas District Court that her premises was entered without her knowledge and added that her husband is not living with her.
The court heard that the pair are in the middle of Circuit Court proceedings for divorce.
Judge Zaidan was also told that the husband has agreed to vacate the family home and give possession to the woman.
However, Mr Flanagan said, he keeps turning up at weird hours wearing a high vis jacket.
Judge Desmond said he would “reluctantly” grant an emergency protection order.
He added that the threshold for the granting of such an order is very high and there has to be a significant risk of substantial harm.
The husband was not present for the hearing.
“I’m not saying she’s not telling the truth”, he said, adding that the application could have formed part of the regular family law case list, rather than appearing as an emergency application.
He said the matter would be fully heard on July 24.
