Fianna Fáil Cllr Noel Heavey made the comments at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District meeting, which was held on Wednesday, June 21 last.

He called on Kildare County Council (KCC) to 'outline it’s programme to provide adequate parking facilities’ for residents of Cedarwood Park.'

"However, the Parks Section would not be in favour of trees or open space being removed to facilitate additional parking."

Commenting directly on the subject, Cllr Heavey said: "I do note the report , but I would think that we should consult the residents, because it is a crazy situation (they are facing).

"Now, I am not an engineer, but I do it should be considered, and it should be considered over a number of years," he added.
