A garda appeal was made on Crimecall on RTE this week in relation to an arson attack on a home in Blessington.

CCTV was shown of a man throwing an accelerant into a living room of a house at Glending Square at 1.25am on October 29 last.

A man can be seen parking up in what is believed to be a dark-coloured SEAT Leon or Cupra with a manufacture date of between 2005 and 2012.

The suspect, dressed in a blue hoodie pulled over his head, is seen throwing something through the front window of the house and a bright flash is seen as a fire is started in the living room.

Then he runs back to his car and returns with a red coloured can which he also throws at the flames.

Gardaí said the house was extensively damaged in the incident.

Blessington Garda Station is investigating the matter and has appealed for information from the public.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident and for any persons who were in the Glending Square vicinity between 1am and 2am and observed any activity which drew their attention to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Glending Square area between 1am and 2am are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Blessington Garda Station on 045 857620, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
