Viewers are frustrated

TV viewers have been venting their frustration at a new 60-second ad for a digital streaming service.

The firm behind the ad claims that a new services automatically chooses preferred content for you rather than endlessly scrolling through options.

The ad shows a man holding his remote control saying "Eeeeeee...." apparently for days while his frustrated partner goes to work, goes to bed, vacuums and paints the room around him and even hosts parties with bemused guests.

People who have complained online about the ad claim they immediately switch channels or mute the sound.

One person said on Reddit: "I mute the TV every time this ad shows up."

Another watcher claimed he cancelled his subscription with the TV services provider.

Another fumed: "This is the worst ad on TV!"

Posters on X formerly known as Twitter said the ad is being shown too much on prime time TV.

Somebody also said on Reddit: his dad got up off his chair and said "stupid ad does my head in" and walked out of the sitting room.

Another poster claimed: "Ads like this are the reason I don't watch TV anymore!"
