Gallery: Monasterevin's first ever Darkness Into Light run draws a big crowd

The town of Monasterevin hosted its first ever Darkness Into Light run last Saturday morning, all in aid of the worthwhile cause of raising money for suicide prevention.
Kildare South TD Fiona O Louglin was present for the walk, as were the Monasterevin Gospel Choir who provided a heavenly backdrop to the run/walk which got underway at around 4.15am.
Run in conjunction with 150 other events all across the country, the Darkness Into Light run raises money for the Pieta House charity.
On the night Mark Clifford, one of the event coordinators of the Monasterevin event, thanked the team of over 80 volunteers and 12 strong Committee Members who “brought this dream of Darkness Into Light in Monasterevin from reality to Fruition,” whilst also recognising that the event wouldn’t have happened but for the goodwill of locals and the support of numerous local business.
