GoFundMe page set up following unprovoked gang attack on man in Portlaoise

A man who was savagely beaten with hurls by a group of men in Portlaoise earlier this month has established a GoFundMe page to help with the costs of the treatment he recovers.
The victim, who is a Mexican national and living with his Brazilian husband in the area, was beaten up by a gang of men in their late teens or early 20s on June 10.
He was treated at Portlaoise Hospital before being transferred to St James' Hospital with serious injuries to his face.
Collie Aquino Teixeira McQuillan has appealed through the public funding website for help as he faces into costly medical procedures following extensive damage to his face and teeth.
He said; "The attack was mindless and totally unprovoked. Medical expenses are mounting up and the overall cost of repairing the damage is more then unaffordable to myself. I have an upper and lower broken jaw. My lower jaw line has splintered bone and I have lost 2 teeth and another 2 teeth have been broken in half. Due to the impact there is nerve damage to my teeth and will require root canals to save them.
Mr Teixeira McQuillan says he is hoping to raise €4,000 from his campaign, which would be half of what he requires for the work needed on his teeth.
His GoFundMe page can be found here.
