Got a decent poc of the sliotar? Kildare's Poc Fada competition takes place tomorrow

The 2018 Kildare Poc Fada will take place in Naas Racecourse tomorrow afternoon as the search for Kildare's biggest poc returns.

There are two categories in the male and female sections, with groups divided up to senior ladies and men, and under 16 boys and girls. Clubs in Kildare are asked to nominate just one person per category to take part in the competition.

The competition will start with under 16s at 10am sharp, with the Senior competitions to follow. All participants must bring a spotter!

The competition takes place on a three kilometre course around the race track that will test the skills of all competitors. The winners will be awarded their perpetual trophies, which will presented on Senior County Final Day. The winner of the Senior Men’s Competition will be presented with the Gearóid Ó Tíarnáin perpetual trophy.

The reigning champion in the men's category is Coill Dubh hurler Diarmuid Cahill, while Deirbhile Byrne of St Laurence's won the ladies section last year.
