Granny to treat grandkids after €60k win on Telly Bingo
A delighted Dublin grandmother left National Lottery headquarters €60,000 richer today after winning big on Telly Bingo – and declared she was going to celebrate by buying her grandkids donuts from their favourite bakery!
The devoted Telly Bingo fan has been playing the game every week since it was launched, and said she felt that one day she would score a major prize.
She said: “I play three times a week and watch it live on TV when I can.
"On this occasion I was out of the house and watched a recording later with my daughter. I couldn’t believe that I had won.
"I have watched the recording over and over again just to be sure!”
The grandmother has no big plans for her win, apart from buying her grandkids their favourite treat. She bought her winning ticket on June 29th in Tesco in Rush, Co. Dublin.
She continued: “I don’t hurry things. I waited a while to come in to collect my cheque and I will take my time before deciding what to do with my winnings.”
Meanwhile, in what was a busy day in National Lottery HQ, a County Louth woman picked up a €50,000 cheque won on an All Cash Platinum scratch card bought in another Tesco store, in West Street in Drogheda.
Speaking on her stroke of luck, the avid scratch card player, said: “Every time I am out and about in the shops I buy a scratch card. I’ve won the odd €5 or €10 before, but nothing like this. I’m thrilled. We got up at the crack of dawn to come down to Dublin to get my winnings. I plan on having a small get together with close friends and family to celebrate the win later this week.”
And the third winner through the National Lottery doors today was a Kilkenny man who picked up €35,422 on EuroMillions Match 5. He bought his winning ticket in SuperValu, Market Cross Centre, James Street, Kilkenny, on August 8th.
There is still an estimated €24 million available to win on the full suite of National Lottery All Cash scratch cards:
