Hundreds breath tested in drink driving clampdown around Co Kildare

Hundreds of drivers throughout Co Kildare were breathalysed over the weekend.

Four  people were arrested for drink-driving during a Garda operation early yesterday.

The arrests came as a result of Operation Surround which saw 22 high-visibility MAT (Mandatory Alcohol Testing) checkpoints carried out around Co Kildare.

The op, which led to 220 drivers being breathalysed, began on Saturday night and carried on into yesterday morning. Two vehicles were seized.
