A woman told Naas District court that her husband had locked the room to the shower.

She came before the court seeking protection under family law legislation. Her husband did not appear and wasn’t represented.

The woman alleged he was trying to intimidate and bully her.

She said the couple are going through a separation. She claimed he had disconnected the wifi link, said he would take the television and also said he would refuse to pay EB bills for her and her child.

Judge Desmond Zaidan said he would grant an interim protection order, but reluctantly.

He commented that strictly speaking there were no grounds for an emergency protection order and the woman had not strictly met the threshold for granting an order.

“These are issues that can be dealt with in a family law court," he said.

The case was adjourned for a fuller hearing to November 11.
