Jobs boost for Newbridge with new store open today

Just as one one store closes in Newbridge town, another opened its doors today, with the creation of up to a dozen new jobs.
Within the next few weeks, Newbridge will bid farewell to a well-established and popular mens' clothing and footware shop, Terry Michaels Ltd. After 30 years trading in the town, the businessman Terry Michael will retire.
However, a new store opened today, in the WhiteWater Shopping Centre, drawing a large amount of customers already.
PARFOIS, a Portuguese brand of fashion accessories opened today, with gifts being given with purchases on the opening and tomorrow too.
The store, the first of its kind in Ireland, is also selling clothes and footware, along with its signature bags, scarves and jewellery. There are already six PARFOIS stores in Ireland, including Dublin, Galway, Limerick and Cork.
However, the Newbridge store is unique as it is offering a wider range of products with clothes and footware in the offering too.
Already the store is employing four staff, with two full and two part time.
There are now plans to add to the workforce, by eight more, it is understood. The store are seeking three full -time, two part-time and two flexi time staff.
Store manager Agnieszka Powalisz said:“It’s such an exciting time for the brand and for the stylish ladies of Kildare."
