Kildare Age Friendly to host free planning skills event

The event will cover topics such as wills and power of attorney
The County Kildare branch of Age Friendly Ireland will host a free planning skills event aimed at elderly people.
According to the organisation's official website, it works to support cities, counties and towns across Ireland "to prepare for the rapid ageing of our population by paying increased attention to the environmental, economic and social factors that influence the health and well-being of older adults".
Speaking about the upcoming event, the organisers said that Kildare Age Friendly has teamed up with Newbridge Citizens Information Office, The National Decision-Making Service and The Irish Hospice Foundation.
"These talks will help you plan your legal, medical and personal affairs for the future," they added.
Topics which will be discussed at the meeting include: the enduring power of attorney; advanced healthcare directive; wills; and future care planning.
Registering for this event in advance is required, especially if attendees wish to avail of one-to-one sessions.
The organisers further said those interested in attending need to bring certain documentation for the one-to-one sessions. They added that those who wish to attend can register online, on the phone or in person.
This event will take place on Thursday, June 26, 2025 in St Conleth’s Community College Newbridge (W12 C432).
It will run from 10am until 1pm.
