KILDARE: Áras Chill Dara car park to open to public at weekends

The possibility of the car park at the Kildare County Council offices in Naas opening to the public at weekends has emerged.
Kildare County Council official Eoghan Ryan said issues such as opening hours and security need to be addressed first but the request to open it is “being actively explored.”
Cllr Evie Sammon made the request describing it as “a huge car park sitting empty every weekend” and she said it would be used by people unwilling to drive into Naas.
She suggested that it should be possible for people to walk through a gate from the front to access the car park rather than having to walk around the building.
She said this would be possible if a park area at the front was opened up for public use as has been previously suggested.
