KILDARE COURT: Man's head was stomped on during assault - claim
A man who allegedly stomped on the head of another has appeared before Naas District Court.
Aaron Walsh, 38, whose address was given as 3226 Maryville Grove, Melitta Road, Kildare town, is being prosecuted for assault on April 15 last at Claregate Street, Kildare town.
He also faces an allegation of possessing cocaine at Kildare garda station on April 26 last.
The court heard it will be claimed that the injured party was also punched and kicked. He suffered severe swelling.
It was also claimed that while in custody the defendant threw a cigarette box which contained cocaine.
The defendant, who was in custody at the time of hearing, was sent forward for trial to Naas Circuit Court.
He was advised by Judge Desmond Zaidan that he must provide details of any alibi to the prosecuting authorities in advance of that hearing.
The judge also issued a warrant for the arrest of a co accused who was due to appear in court.
The court heard that he was awaiting a bus to get to the courthouse in Naas.
