Kildare Fire Service issues warning about Halloween bonfires

Kildare Fire Service has issued the following warning about Hallowween bonfires:

So we are fast approaching Halloween, one of the busiest nights for the Fire Service. This is not necessarily for reasons of arson, but more to the fact that people do not understand the dangers of fire and how it works! Be safe this Halloween and follow a few simple guidelines:

?️Use battery operated candles rather than open flames if possible ? When choosing costumes, use ones without long trailing fabric ? Be careful in locations where fireworks are present. These are lethal if used wrong. ? Use fireguards in front of home fires and do not leave them unguarded when you go out trick or treating! ? Respect the emergency services if you see them, we're only doing our job but want to be safe doing so.

Stay safe this Halloween, hopefully we won't be seeing you!
