Kildare Fire Service urges parents to talk to children about fire safety

Over the course of the last few months, fire fighters across the country including in Co Kildare have been visiting 3rd class students to teach them about fire safety in the homes.
Fire fighters go through potential fire hazards in the home and some items that could aid families in an emergency
They also explain the best ways of dealing with different types of fires.

Children who take part in the fire safety talk are encouraged to go home and complete the home check list and to get it signed by a parent or guardian.
Parents are urged to spend the time to go through their checklist with them and ensure correct fire safety procedures are in place.
