A local man charged in connection with a number of alleged burglaries in Naas has appeared before the District Court.

James Lynch, 19, whose address was given as 1 Our Lady’s Place, Naas, appeared before the court via videolink.

Sgt Dave Hanrahan said it will be alleged he was involved in a number of burglaries.

He said a file has gone to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

It is alleged he was involved in incidents at Renew Skin Clinic in Naas , the La Pause cafe at Friary Road,  Lavenders Blue at Friary Road, the Salt Cave at Moat Mall  and Tutty’s Shoes at Millbrook, Naas.

The offences are alleged to have taken place on dates in March and April 2023.

There was an objection to a request for an adjournment by defending solicitor David Powderly, who said if the state is waiting on every last piece of evidence before starting the case “we’ll be here a very long time.”

Mr Powderly said the defendant is in custody and needs to have the case addressed.
