Referendums vote

There will be two new polling stations in the Naas area for the forthcoming referendums (March 8) to alter the Constitution. They deal with the concept of family and recognising care provided by family members to each other.

Scoil an Linbh Íosa, also known as Holy Child National School Ballycane, in Naas will be a polling centre.

In Kill, the local GAA premises is not available so voters will go to the Scoil Bhríde primary school instead.

Naas Mayor Bill Clear hit out at taking over schools as polling stations.

“We should get away from using schools because they lose a day (out of the school year),” he told a Naas Municipal District meeting.
