Kildare residents should be told about the dangers posed by farm animals

There's a risk associated with trespassing on agricultural land
Kildare County Council should engage with local residents about the dangers of going on to land used by farm animals.
Naas mayor Fintan Brett wants Kildare County Council to engage with “residents associations and responsible adults in Naas.”
He said people living in estates which adjoin farmland with cattle, horses or sheep should be reminded “of the dangers to children in trespassing on lands containing animals.”
He said animals such as donkeys or a mare with a foal are prone to attacking humans.
Cllr Bill Clear said animals are a farmer’s livelihood and trespass can also lead to damage being caused.
According to Kildare County Council, this issue does not fall within its sphere of responsibility, but its housing department “may be able to advise with further information.”
