Kildare should have its own App to highlight attractions
This has been done successfully in Kilkenny
Events taking place in Kildare should be listed on an app - similar to the Kilkenny app.
That’s according to Sinn Féin councillor Noel Connolly who said a similar initiative should launch in Kildare.
Kildare County Council official Alan Dunney told a KCC meeting that it has reviewed the contents of the app detailing events taking place in Kilkenny.
This includes how it functions, its usage rate, how it might be applicable to Kildare and how it is updated and kept relevant on a daily and weekly basis.
He also said an important element will be to ascertain who the relevant stakeholders are in Kilkenny and who their equivalents might be in Kildare “as well as gaining an understanding of the funding and resources required to develop, operate and maintain the application.”
Mr Dunney also said any progression of this project beyond the initial examination phase may likely be dependent on funding and resources being available.
