A County Cork resident accused of causing a man's death in County Kildare due to dangerous driving has had her case sent forward for trial.
Earlier this year, Naas District Court was told that Egle Cimermaniene, with an address given as 3 Oakfield Drive, Riverstown, Glanmire, County Cork, allegedly committed the offence at the M7 Northbound on September 25, 2021.
On this date, it was heard that a man had died in the incident, and that he had been trying to help the victim of another road-traffic collision before he was allegedly hit by the 39-year-old defendant.
The man later died in hospital from his wounds.
On the latest court date — Thursday, July 6 last — a book of evidence was served on the defendant.
Following this, Judge Desmond Zaidan sent Ms Cimermaniene forward for trial at the present sittings of Naas Circuit Criminal Court, which commenced on June 20.
