Local Fine Gael councillor urging the approval of a Christmas market in Newbridge

Local FG Councillor , Fiona McLoughlin Healy is calling on Newbridge to let the Council and the Town Hall Management group know that we want and can produce a great Christmas Market.
"I have sought confirmation of what is required by the Council from all those who have expressed an interest in participating in the Christmas Market in the Town Hall. The director of service has informed me that the inaugural meeting of the Management group of the Town Hall will be happening next week. He has for the first time advised me that there are competing requests for events that the Management Group will be asked to consider" said Cllr McLoughlin Healy.
The Management group will be asked to consider the competing requests for the applicant's ability to organise and hold a Christmas Market. Councillor Healy believes the Kildare Business Wisdom Council which ran the very successful Dubai Duty Free Busk and Food Festival earlier this year has the proven ability to deliver a Christmas market.
"I will be asking the Management Group to refer to the success of the Busk and Food Festival organised by a small focused group of local businesses with a similar goal, to provide an enjoyable family event for the community while helping to raise revenue for local businesses, " said Cllr McLoughlin Healy.
Plans for a Christmas market include live music, Christmas themed stalls, face-painting, Santa, reduced/free parking, competitions and lots more besides.
