Man accused of Athy stabbing back in court

An Athy man charged with an alleged knife attack in the town is back in court today.

The alleged stabbing incident happened in Garter Lane, Athy at 1.50pm on September 29.

Dad-of-one Ian Lawlor (35) of Clonmullion in Athy, who is charged with assault causing harm, is due at Athy District Court.

An earlier court sitting heard that the stabbing victim was taken to Naas General Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and received 100 surgical stitches.

A previous court hearing heard that Mr Lawlor has a partner and a young daughter.
