Mini roundabout in Newbridge branded 'dangerous'

Kildare Co Council has been asked to carry out an examination of a 'dangerous' mini roundabout in Newbridge.

The local authority has been requested by Cllr Mark Lynch to find a solution to the speed and volume of traffic using the small intersection in The Meadows residential area.

Cllr Lynch called the roundabout 'dangerous' and added that 'traffic is 'speeding' through it.

Scores of local residents used local routes as well as motorists taking a short-cut between the Milltown Road and the Ballymany and Moorefield Road areas.

The issue will be raised by the Sinn Fein politician at the Newbridge Municipal District meeting next week.
