Naas CBS run riot late on to secure Leinster Schools Championships semi-final after slow start

Leinster Schools Senior Football ‘A’ quarter-final

Naas CBS 0-15

Coláiste Eoin 1-5

Naas CBS ran out comfortable winners in their Leinster Schools Senior Football ‘A’ quarter-final with Coláiste Eoin. The Naas school trailed 1-5 to 0-5 at the break but then managed to reduce the visiting side to no score in the second half.

Naas drew level on with 12 minutes to go with a Carl Lennox score and from there they kicked into gear. The following minutes would see superb scores from Ryan Sinkey, who had misfired to that point, and substitute Tom Kelly who was a superb introduction.

The match started over half an hour late due to the conditions and both sides were left hanging around during that time. That may account for Naas' slow start but no doubt they will want to show their second half form for longer in their upcoming semi-final.
