The Irish National Stud & Gardens to announce the official opening of its newly expanded Fairy Trail, a magical enhancement that invites families and fairy‑seekers to step deeper into a world of wonder.

At the heart of the expansion is a stunning new fairy garden, lovingly created by the team from a repurposed water holder transformed into a miniature world of colour, creativity, and tiny enchantments. The garden is joined by a beautifully crafted fairy ring and the show‑stopping Whispering Willows Fairy Treehouse — the ultimate hideaway for little explorers eager to discover where fairies might rest, play, and dream. Together, these new features extend the Fairy Trail into an immersive experience that blends storytelling, nature, and hands‑on discovery.

The extended Fairy Trail was unveiled as part of the Irish National Stud & Gardens’ summer programme, a season filled with family‑friendly events designed to spark imagination and celebrate the joy of spending time outdoors.

The next summer event takes place on Wednesday, July 15 when families can venture into the woods for the Little Red Riding Hood Woodland Adventure, a charming trail through St. Fiachra’s Gardens. Children will help Little Red Riding Hood spot items for her basket, search for hidden pictures, find the Big Bad Wolf’s Wanted Poster, and hunt for a special red pinecone to exchange for a prize. The trail leads to Granny’s thatched cottage, where Little Red Riding Hood and Walter the Wolf await, with woodland games, mask‑making, arts and crafts, face painting, and fairground fun completing the day.

As July draws to a close, the gardens host one of their most beloved traditions — the annual Teddy Bear Picnic on Wednesday, July 29. Families are encouraged to bring their favourite teddy bears for a day of stories, games, and teddy‑themed adventures. Children can take on Big Bertie Bear’s trail, searching for his ten hidden friends to earn a special certificate and treat. Storytelling with Goldilocks, wooden teddy decorating, funfair rides, competitions, and delicious food options ensure a memorable day for all.

Amanda Kelly, Sales and Marketing Manager at The Irish National Stud & Gardens, commented: “The team have worked really hard over the past few weeks to create the magical extended fairy trail for our smallest visitors, and we are delighted to have it ready for the summer season. We’re proud to offer all our summer family events as part of general admission, giving families the chance to enjoy full days of fun, imagination, and discovery at The Irish National Stud & Gardens. It’s not just a day out, it is a day off for everyone.”

Open seven days a week from 9am, the Irish National Stud & Gardens invites visitors to experience the magic of the summer season. For further information and to purchase tickets online, please visit www.irishnationalstud.ie
