NOTICE: Uisce Éireann restores water supply in Kildare town and surrounding areas

The organisation said that one of its crews completed the repair work by 11pm last night (August 26)
Water supply has returned for customers in Kildare town and surrounding areas following an unplanned outage yesterday evening (August 26 last).
Uisce Éireann (UE) said that the outage occurred on the Newbridge trunk main, which resulted in customers in the following areas being affected: Brownstown, Ballysax, Cut Bush, Kildare town, Meadow Road, Station Road (in Kildare town), French Furze, various areas in the town of Newbridge and surrounding areas.
According to UE, one of its crews completed the repair work by 11pm last night.
UE further said: "As the network fills and supplies return throughout the day, customers at the end of the network may experience intermittent disruption or low water pressure for a number of hours. Customers may also experience short-term discolouration to their supply."
UE's water network operations manager, Eoghan Forristal, also thanked local residents and businesses "for their patience and understanding while crews worked to restore supply".
Mr Forristal added: "Some customers may have discoloured water, and we would ask these customers to run their taps for up to 20 minutes until the water runs clear."
UE has a free text service, providing real-time updates for local issues.
Customers can sign up with their Eircode and mobile number at www.water.ie.
