'We need to tackle single use plastic'
Single use plastic should be banned from big public events like concerts or major horseracing fixtures in County Kildare.
Local councillor Evie Sammon wants Kildare County Council to implement a new policy at licensed events which are expected to attract over 5,000 people.
Cllr Sammon said only recyclable cups should be permitted - with the aim of reducing single-use plastic waste.
