Mayra Homes Ltd has applied for planning permission

Plans have been lodged for a €1.1 million residential development that would see 20 new homes built on the Sallins Road in Clane, Co. Kildare.

Mayra Homes Ltd has applied for planning permission to redevelop a site at Sallins Road, Clane, with the proposal involving the demolition of an existing dwelling and associated outbuildings.

The application provides for the construction of three terrace blocks containing a mix of houses and maisonettes designed to increase housing supply in the growing north Kildare town.

The development would comprise six three-bedroom houses in one two-storey terrace block, while a second two-storey block would include three three-bedroom houses and two one-bedroom maisonettes.

A third terrace block would feature two single-storey one-bedroom maisonettes alongside seven two-storey two-bedroom houses. Mid-terrace homes would also include dedicated bin and bicycle storage facilities.

As part of the proposal, the existing vehicular entrance onto the R407 would be upgraded and a new recessed access road constructed to serve the development. The scheme also includes a connection to the public foul sewer network and all associated site works.

The proposed development is located within the curtilage of a Protected Structure, identified in the Kildare County Development Plan as B14-66, meaning the application will be assessed with regard to its potential impact on the historic setting.

Planning documents submitted with the application were prepared by Brian Connolly Associates on behalf of Mayra Homes Ltd. Uisce Éireann is listed as a statutory consultee in relation to water and wastewater services.

A decision on the planning application will be made by Kildare County Council following the statutory assessment process.
