Plans for Caragh Bridge repairs proceed.

Cllr Robert Power informs KildareNow that Council plans were submitted on schedule last Thursday, September 10th regarding works on the damaged Caragh Bridge.
"The Dept of Heritage have promised a speedy reply to these plans and are expected on or before September 21st. In the meantime, KCC are working as though planning will get the go-ahead. They are also working with the Dept of Fisheries on plans to erect scaffolding along the Liffey" said Cllr Power, who is a native of Caragh himself.
"Interesting to note that as part of KCC plans, they are also considering what level of traffic or vehicles will be permitted to use the bridge once it's re-opened so that could be a positive outcome from an accident that has negatively impacted on the village".
Tomorrow, Tuesday 14th, Cllr Power will raise a motion at Naas Municipal District meeting to request funding from the Dept of Transport, to advance plans in commencing work on a new bridge.
