KidCast children’s podcast is returning, following a hugely successful first series which was nominated for the inaugural Irish Podcast Awards. The half hour show is made by kids, for kids and is supported by the Arts Council.

KidCast hears primary school children host, report child friendly news, interview guests, and provides a fun and educational platform for their voices and creativity.

The show is created by voice over artist and drama facilitator, Céire O’Donoghue.

Céire said: ‘Like many parents during lockdown I reached to different media to keep my children engaged. Podcasts were a huge hit but the lack of choice geared towards an Irish audience sparked me to fill this gap."

Since then KidCast has grown into a popular source of kids and family entertainment as well as a valuable classroom resource. As the podcast embarks on its second series it has now launched its nationwide hunt for the next presenters, newsreaders and feature contributors.

If you know a child who would like to get involved, message [email protected] or @kidcastpod on Instagram. To tune into the new series coming this February you’ll find KidCast on all major listening apps including Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts. For more information visit www.kidcast.ie.
