Pregnant Patricia refusing to pay rent in Athy until heating is fixed

Pregnant single mumof-two Patricia Leigh moved into The Harbour apartment building in Athy, Co Kildare, in June with her two sons.
But she was left devastated when she arrived to find the apartment without heating and covered in a mould and dampness that leaves her kitchen like "a skating rink".
Speaking to the Irish Sun, the heartbroken mum told how the ceiling in the hall crumbled last week due to the mould and was just plastered over yesterday.
She said: "When I moved in there was never any heating in it. The floor in the kitchen is like a skating rink. It's from condensation coming off the patio doors.
"All around my windows are damp and wet.
"I have a little blow heater I got off my mother over the Christmas as my two little boys were getting sick every week with chest infections.
"I was out in the hall having a chat with a neighbour when the roof just fell through. My neighbour's girl was coming down the stairs at the time and it fell on top of her. It's scandalous.
"The elevator out in the hall doesn't even work."
Patricia said she has refused to pay her rent until the heating in the building is fixed — but she has now been issued with a letter telling her to pay up or she'll be forced to leave.
