A collision on the M50 earlier caused tailbacks to extend back to the Red Cow interchange.

The incident happened on the southbound carriageway before Junction 5 Finglas.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) said 'rubber-neckers' slowing down to view the scene caused delays back to Junction 3 and later Junction 6 Blanchardstown

TII later added: "Rubbernecking delays northbound has extended back to before Junction 9 Red Cow M50."

All emergency services and recovery teams later left the scene and the obstruction was cleared.
