Tributes paid to 'absolute gentleman' from Kildare who passed this week

Heartfelt tributes have been paid to an “absolute gentleman” from Kildare who passed earlier this week.

Tom Lucitt, St Patrick's Park, Rathangan, Co Kildare, formerly Taghmon, Co Wexford passed peacefully on April 24 2025 in the wonderful care of the staff at St Brigid's Hospice, The Curragh, surrounded by his loving family.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Dolores, daughters Elaine, Karen, Leanne and Sandra, sons in law Murt, Jason and PJ, grandchildren Cian, TJ, Brody, Mason, Conor, Céilí, and Cormac, mother in law Mary, extended family, neighbours and friends.

May Tom Rest In Peace.

Tributes paid on RIP.ie this week included: “Deepest condolences to you Dolores, your daughters, grandchildren and extended family. I'm so so sorry for your loss, Tom was an absolute gentleman and loved his family dearly. Such a devastating loss to you all, you're in our thoughts and prayers , rest easy now Tom, look down on your family and take care of them, will light a candle.”

And: “Sincere condolences to the Lucitt family and extended family on the sad news of Tom's passing. Ar dheis de go raibh a anim.”

While another mourner wrote: “Deepest condolences to Dolores, Karen, Leanne, Sandra and extended families on your very sad loss. You are all in our thoughts and prayers xx all his pain is gone and I’m sure he’s up there now stuck under the bonnet of some stock car or pulling an engine apart. I know you all have the best memories of your husband, Daddy and grandad. He loved you all deeply. Rest in peace Tom.”

And another added: “A much loved man who gave time to each and every person around you, who taught us life skills and common sense, never hesitated to offer a helping hand.

R.I.P Tom. You were an absolute gentleman.”

Reposing at his daughter Karen's home, 542 St. Patrick's Park, Rathangan on Friday (April 25) from 4pm concluding with rosary at 8pm.

Removal by Glennons Funeral Directors on Saturday morning to arrive at the Church of the Assumption and St. Patrick, Rathangan for requiem mass at 11am.
