Demolition work has begun by the Elliott Group at St Conleth's Park in Newbridge as part of a multi-million euro redevelopment on behalf of Kildare GAA.

The pitch will be extended to the maximum length of 145m and the width 85m; fully floodlit; with a capacity of 15,000 with 3,000 seats.

Work got underway after Kildare beat Meath in the National League on March 26.

It is hoped that games will resume at St Conleth's Park with the senior club football and hurling county finals of 2024; with the county action getting under way in 2025.
