Viking theme to Kildare Town Medieval Festival this year

The Kildare Town Tourism Group brings you the Kildare Town Medieval Festival on Sunday August 12th August from 12 – 6pm, a Viking-themed day where Kildare’s rich medieval heritage is celebrated.

This is the fourth year of this great family day out that appeals to both young and old, history buffs, foodies, crafters and everyone in between!

Come along and browse the Medieval Food and Craft Market  followed by the puppet show or a stroll to the Tented Viking Village, home to the Deise re-enactors.

Activities on the day include a falconry display, many Medieval games, craft area, heritage craft demos like a Farriery display, Oak carving, Calligraphy, Willow weaving and wool spinning.

For the adventurous why not come along in Medieval Costume?!

Try your hand at tag archery by Red Hills Adventure, climbs Ireland’s tallest accessible Round Tower or join the KideVike Games and learn to battle like a Viking.
