Door locks in the house were broken

A woman told Naas District Court that she feels under threat in her own home.

She came to Naas District Court seeking protection under family law legislation.

She further alleged that the lock on her bedroom door was broken and the door could not be locked. And the lock on a second door was broken.

“I feel under threat in my own home,” she said, adding that her husband, who did not appear and was not represented, had violated the terms of a mediated agreement.

“I’m vigilant all the time in case it gets more extreme," she said.

She also said divorce proceedings had not yet started and they are not speaking.

Asked if she was sure he had caused the damage, she replied it could not be anyone else and there was no visitors at those times.

Judge Miriam Walsh granted an interim protection order and adjourned the case to November 24.
