She also alleges she was video recorded

A man is preventing his ex-partner from sleeping, a woman alleged at Naas District Court.

The couple have two young children and while they still live together, the relationship ended about 18 months ago.

Naas District Court was told they are in the process of getting separated.

“The situation is very difficult, he’s mentally abusive,” she said adding she feels under constant emotional and mental abuse.

She said she had contacted the gardaí and he would not let here sleep and had video recorded her.

She said he had run towards her with his hand raised.

He still sleeps in the main bedroom of their apartment and she had been sleeping in a single room with a child. When she wants to sleep in the living room he refuses to let her.

“He is making everything difficult for me," she said.

Judge Desmond Zaidan granted her an interim protection order and adjourned the matter to May 27.
