Woman gets up five messages a day from her ex, Kildare court told

She alleged the messages are unwanted and distressing and some are sexual in nature
A woman who is receiving up to five messages from her ex partner sought protection at Naas District Court.
She told the court she is separated from her partner, who was not present or represented at the hearing. The woman alleged that he sent a number of “unwanted and distressing” communications and the claimed that the gardaí are involved as a result of this behaviour.
She alleged some of the messages are sexual in nature.
She further claimed the man had contacted third parties about her and was “asking about my private life.”
She told Judge Derek Cooney she was seeking a safety order and described the man’s behaviour as harassment.
She added: “This is affecting my own well being and sense of safety,” saying she felt intimated.
The woman was accompanied to court by another female who translated some of the proceedings for her.
Judge Cooney granted a protection order and adjourned the case to September 14.
The judge advised the woman to take a picture of the order and to retain it at all times.
He said the man can contact her in relation to the child in the family but if he sends threatening or sexual messages she should contact the gardaí.
