Woman reportedly brutally attacked with a hammer over refusing to give stranger chips

Gardaí are currently looking into reports of an horrific attack on a woman in Dublin City Centre on Friday evening.
It is reported that the woman was attacked with a claw hammer on James Street, close to the massive Guinness Storehouse attraction. The most disturbing aspect of the reports was that the woman was allegedly attacked after she refused to give a male stranger chips from a bag of chips she was eating from.
Gardaí are aware of reports of a woman being attacked with a hammer, but they are unable to confirm whether or not that is the case as no assault has been reported to them in relation to the incident.
Paramedics were called to the scene to aid the woman who appeared to suffer some significant injuries to her head. Social media images showed a large amount of blood at the scene shortly afterwards.
The Independent.ie state that one report says that it was another woman who attacked her with a hammer, while another witness said she was attacked by a man after refusing to give him chips.
