1,200 Laois Leaving Certs set for results day

More than 1,200 Laois Leaving Certificate 2026 candidates will be able to access their exam results from 10am on Friday, August 21.
Students will be able to access results on the Candidate Self Service Portal run by the State Examinations Commission (SEC), but they have to register an account on the portal to be able to log in and see their results.
Schools will also have a record of the results for students to access on Friday.
Candidates can use the CAO points calculator to calculate your score based on results received.

If you’re not happy with your results, you can appeal your Leaving Certificate results online using the Candidate Self Service Portal.
The 2026 exams began on Wednesday, June 3. At the time, the SEC said a new record number of candidates would sit State secondary school exams, with the level surpassing 146,000 for the first time.
Overall, the number entered has increased by 4% (+6,096) compared with 2025. The most significant increases are in the numbers entered for the Leaving Certificate programme which were up 9% and in the Leaving Certificate Applied programme, which is 6% higher than last year.
Numbers also rose in Laois, with a total of 1,261 secondary school students and some adult learners are projected to sit the final exam of their school days. Of the total, 111 students signed up for Leaving Cert Applied while the remainder, 1,150, are sitting the regular Leaving Cert. A total of 1,134 students sat the final exam in 2025 in Laois.
