Laois County Council has agreed to install flexible pedestrian safety bollards in Mountmellick

Bollards to prevent cars parking are coming to the entrances of two housing estates in Mountmellick.

One is Ashgrove in the town centre, a busy area next to the credit union, arts centre and funeral home.

The other is Grange Hall on Harbour Street, which is undergoing a major housing expansion.

Cllr Paddy Bracken has asked for the bollards, tabling a motion to the October meeting of the Mountmellick Borris-in-Ossory Municipal District.

He said it is in the interests of pedestrian safety.

Laois County Council has agreed to install flexible pedestrian safety bollards in both locations.
