Camogie team guests of honour for Laois New Year's Day fundraiser
A Laois community is giving pride of place to a successful team of young female Gaelic players at an upcoming New Years Day fundraiser.
Ballacolla Tractor Run and Walk takes place this January 1, and they have announced their guests of honour as the local Under 13 camogie champions, from the Clough/Ballacolla camogie club.
"Guests of Honour at the New Year’s Day Walk 2023 will be Clough/Ballacolla u13 Laois Camogie Champions who made history in November by becoming the first ever Camogie Team from the Parish to win a Country Title," the organisers have announced.
The fun walk and tractor run in Ballacolla is a hugely popular community event every year.
All walkers, vintage and modern tractors are invited to the village for the 2pm start.
Registration is at 1.30pm, and the route will traverse the now well trodden routes before returning to St Patrick's Hall where refreshments and a raffle will be held.
Proceeds from the day will go to support the local National School and The Hawthorn Community Centre.
