Cash offer opens for Laois climate action community projects

People willing to take action over climate change in Laois now have a new fund to dip into.
Applications are opening for the new Community Climate Action Fund for Laois groups.

"Community action is at the heart of how Laois becomes a more sustainable county. This funding supports community groups to lead from within their communities in addressing climate challenges at the local level,” she told the Leinster Express / Laois Live.
The fund is available to organisations and community groups interested in developing projects and initiatives which address the challenge of climate change in their communities.
The overall aim of the Community Climate Action Programme is to support and empower communities, in partnership with Laois County Council, to shape and build low carbon, sustainable communities and to contribute to the national climate and energy targets.
The Programme aims to support all communities - small and large, rural and urban - to take positive climate action.
