Children forced to wait on flooded Laois road for school bus

Laois children are forced to wait in a flooded area while waiting for a school bus.
So claimed, Cllr Seamus McDonald, Fianna Fáil after he tabled a motion at a recent meeting with Laois County Council.
Cllr McDonald appealed to the local authority to resolve the flooding problem at Kilcavan Cross. He added that children are affected because they have to wait in the spot for a bus on rainy mornings.
Edmond Kenny, District Engineer, said level surveys would be completed on this street and the outcome would identify the most suitable outfall. He said Drainage works will follow.
The matter was raised at the April Borris-in-Ossory Moutmellick Municipal District meeting.
