Clean up of site for Laois cemetery parking urged

Laois County Council should push ahead with work to prepare a site for parking at Mountrath’s cemetery, according to Cllr James Kelly.

The independent councillor said he was delighted to learn that the site beside St Fintan's Cemetery that had been zoned for residential purposes would be redesignated for community use.

“I would propose that a clean up would start on the site because there is rubbish and bushes,” he said.

The issue was raised at a meeting of the Borris-in-Ossory Mountmellick Municipal District in County Hall.
